I can't help unless I know the year of make.
I had an old sears lawn tractor and it was really a Roper.
But do you mean the ball joint connecters for the steering?
I hope you respond as I can learn too from your answer.

There's only a couple of companies making lawn tractor's in the U.S. now, Lowes and Tractor Farm Supply both have parts for them. You could also try a lawn mower repair shop.

To begin, get your supposed "facts" straight DIYDOC.....Sears was not "taken over" by anyone, not K-Mart, not little green headed men from Mars. It was a merger of the 2 companies - the name of the new corporation is Sears Holdings (note K-Mart isn't in the new name)
Now - regarding your parts question. Since you have the internet (obviously), go to Sears.com There is a "parts" button to push on the home page. Once at the parts home page, enter your tractor model number (it will begin with a 917, then a period, then a 6 digit number). A list of available parts will come up, including the Owners manual which you obviously don't have (if you had it, you could simply locate the part and part number at the back of the manual) You can also click on "diagram" and an exploded drawing indicating parts will come up. Get you part numbers and order them online. There will be a shipping charge. If you'd rather call, call 1-800-4-MYHOME, give them the part numbers and model number, and they'll process your order and have it sent to your house.

No offense but have you tried Sears.com?

Even though they were taken over under very suspicious and unscrupulous methods by K mart,,,,,,sigh,,, They offer a HUGE data base through Parts & Service,,, even Tech help,,, which I use often. I'd check THEM out first/ next; if I was in your place.
